Iconography is the gift of the Orthodox church to the world. Through Icons, we communicate to the lives of the saints. They are windows to heaven. The Triumph of Orthodoxy is not a victory of one group of people over another but the victory of the truth we could finally grasp.

The human will is how we operate in this world. Sometimes, we act based on our passions rather than our will. When our passions take over, our will gets suppressed, and we lose our freedom. Losing the freedom to choose leads to rebellion against God, and we may no longer be able to reason.

According to our theology the end time is the beginning of the fullness of the Kingdom of God. That is when Our Lord and Savior promised to come second time with His Power and Glory. No one knows when he will come but when he comes no one will be able to miss it because his second coming will be like the sun rising from all corners of the earth.

When we separate ourselves from the source of life we fall in to despair sooner or later by adopting a lifestyle that leads to darkness and decay. The prodigal son comes to remind us that we all have the hope of the salvation. Sometimes when we do not know our true value, when others make us feel like we are trash our heavenly father is ready to embrace us because he sees His image in us.

Today in anticipation to great lent and Holy Week we read the story of our Lord entering in to Jerusalem as a King but with one difference that His Kingdom is not of this world.

Our Lord answered the question of the Sadducees regarding eternal life in heaven where we will be like Angels. The answer explains that there was a misunderstanding regarding the conditions of Heaven. From the answer we learn that in heaven we will be like Angelas which means that we will be seamlessly glorifying God. That starts here and now.
