OUR PRIEST

Father Yanni was born in Katerini, Greece, and grew up in the small town of Leptokaria, where he attended school through the third grade. The summer before fourth grade, his family relocated to Roslindale, Massachusetts, where they joined and became active members of St. Nectarios Church.

Answering God's call to serve His people, Fr. Yanni pursued his formation at Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Throughout his studies he continued his involvement with the Metropolis Athletic and Camping ministries, serving at various Archdiocesan camps and youth programs and growing in the skills, talents, and vision that would shape his ministry to young people.

In August 2015, he married the love of his life, Marina, at her home parish of Saints Constantine and Helen Church in Andover. By God's grace, in the spring of 2017, on the feast of Saints Constantine and Helen, he was ordained to the Diaconate by Metropolitan Methodios in Andover. Three days later, on the Apodosis of Pascha, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood at his home parish of Saint Nectarios in Roslindale.

From 2019 to 2026, Fr. Yanni served as assistant priest at St. Vasilios Church in Peabody, where he and Presvitera Marina were blessed to welcome their three children: Eleni, Stella, and Lazaros.

In June 2026, Fr. Yanni began his ministry here at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Somerville. We are grateful to God for the gift of his priesthood among us.
