Love Thy Neighbor

Love Thy Neighbor is where our church’s care meets real, everyday needs in our neighborhood. Donations to this ministry go directly toward food, essential items, and community outreach for neighbors experiencing hardship. If you feel drawn to support visible, local impact, giving to Love Thy Neighbor is a meaningful way to do so.

DORMITION TABLE

Putting the Lord’s commands into action by serving the community.  The Dormition Church nourishes those in need from around the Somerville area and beyond through the Dormition Table Ministry.  The Dormition Table is the fruit of many parishioners’ collective efforts to plan, organize, and start our own Dormition church soup kitchen.  The Dormition Table strives to provide and serve freshly cooked meals twice a month for the community (and we hope and pray that we can serve more often in the near future).

RENOVATION PROJECT

The Dormition Church recently completed an expansive renovation project that renews its mission for its next hundred years of serving the Somerville community and beyond.  This project included adding beautiful and traditional Byzantine iconography to the church.  The church’s social halls were completely renovated, and a new community entrance and elevator were added.  The project also included the addition of a magnificent Byzantine belltower, with a dome, a cross, and a mosaic icon of the Virgin Mary that was handmade in Greece.  Please contribute to the renovation project to help secure the Dormition Church’s legacy and to advance our mission.
