OUR FAITH

Our faith is both ancient and modern. Our faith is both dynamic and unchanging.  It reaches back millennia, yet is equally relevant today.  As the Church’s Creed describes the Faith, it is “One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.”

OUR HISTORY

Our parish church was founded here in Somerville over 100 years ago and has ministered to generations of Greek Americans and other Orthodox Christians, and it has always been a beacon of the Orthodox faith and our proud Hellenic heritage.

OUR PATRON SAINT

The Mother of God, or the Theotokos in Greek, is a central figure in Christian history and in the life of the Church.  The Virgin Mary always said “Yes” to God’s will, no matter the circumstances.  Her life is a model for every Christian, and we always pray that she will intercede for us before the Lord.

PARISH COUNCIL

A Parish Council is a body of practicing Orthodox Christians sacramentally in good standing with the Church, elected by the members of a parish for the purpose of working together with the priest in fulfilling the goals and needs of that parish.
