Better Together in Christ Retreat | March 6 & 7, 2026

As we begin a new year and welcome a newly seated Parish Council this January, we are called to deepen our unity in Christ across all parish ministries. To grow together in this spirit we are delighted to invite you to the Better Together in Christ: Dormition Ministry & Parish Council Retreat.

For the first time this year, we welcome both ministry leaders and ministry members.  We hope this broader invitation will strengthen our sense of unity as we grow together in Christ. Please forward this invitation to your ministry’s members! We look forward to gathering, reflecting, and growing together as the Dormition Family.

Purpose

 

The focus of the Retreat is to:

• Deepen our relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ

• Discern how our ministries can work together to serve God’s mission

• Pray and plan together for the year ahead

​

Outcomes

​

Leaving the Retreat, we hope:

• We will have grown closer to one another and to Christ

• Each ministry will be prepared to present at the General Assembly the following Sunday (March 15), highlighting key efforts expected during 2026, with an emphasis on how we can better serve together in Christ’s name.

 

Who Is Invited

• Parish Council members & their spouses/significant others

• Anyone currently serving in a ministry & their spouses/significant others​

Dates

​

• Friday, March 6: Optional evening fellowship (starting at 5pm)

• Saturday, March 7: Main retreat day (from 8:30am, concluding by approximately 4:30pm)

 

Logistics & Registration Information

​

The retreat will be held at the Metropolis Camp retreat house.

​

• Friday overnight stay lodging (optional): $250 for a room (double occupancy)

• Friday attendance (optional): $25/person, which covers meals for the evening.

• Saturday attendance: $50/person, which covers meals for the day.

​

If cost presents a hardship but you would still like to participate, please reach out directly to Father Anthony, who will make the necessary arrangements to help subsidize the cost.

Commitment and Next Steps

​

To help us plan, we are asking for:

​

• A firm commitment to participate by filling out this Registration Form

• Submission of your registration fee by February 18, in order to secure your spot (via check made payable to the church and sent to the church office)

Once we have a confirmed list of attendees, we will also coordinate carpooling as needed.
