She was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Her parents were members of the Annunciation Cathedral of Boston, where she was christened. At the age of 3 years old, the family moved to Somerville, Massachusetts, where she attended the Somerville School system and attended Boston University to further her studies with degrees in Accounting and Taxation. She currently works for a real estate company as their Chief Financial Officer.
Since settling in Somerville, MA her family has been attending the Dormition of Virgin Mary Church, where she attended Sunday school and Greek School. After graduating Sunday school, Diane served as a Sunday school teacher for 12 years. She eventually, joined the Parish Council in 2005, holding various positions, such as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary and currently as President.
She has achieved many accomplishments throughout her tenure on the Parish Council. She served as Treasurer and played a key role on the Centennial Gala Committee and personally raised approximately $55,000 for our church’s Centennial celebration.
She was one of four people who served on the Editorial Board Committee that edited and published the Centennial Album.
She served as vice-chairperson of the Demetriades Fundraising Event that netted over $20,000 for our Greek School and Summer Camp for our Youth. Diane has been chairing many dinner events and co-chaired several annual fall festivals that have raised thousands of dollars for our church. She has served and is serving in many ministries, such as the Finance Ministry, By-laws Ministry, Real Estate and Development Ministry, Scholarship Ministry just to name a few. She has been beautifying our church during major feast days, such as Panagia’s, Easter and Christmas by making the floral vase arrangements. Diane has invested and will continue to invest tremendous amount of time serving the Dormition Church, which she considers her second home.
