St. Catherine’s Philoptochos meets once a month Date and time TBD

St. Catherine’s holds a General Assembly of all members twice a year, date and time TBD.



  1. To help the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the church.  
  2. To promote the charitable, benevolent and philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Church of America,
  3. To preserve and perpetuate Orthodox Concepts and the Orthodox family, through faith and traditions, in accordance with its doctrines, canons discipline, divine worship, usages and customs.
  4. To promote participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community, with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and the Parish Council.

We are responsible to have fund raisers to help support the following National and Local Philoptochos commitments paid from January to December.

St. Basil Academy, Social Services/Cancer & other Major Illness, Autism Assistance Fund, St. Photios Shrine, Orthodox Christian Mission Center/Support a Mission Priest, Hellenic College/Holy Cross Lenten Event, Sisterhood of St. Basil Academy, International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), 75th Anniversary Founders Fund, Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OFC),  Hellenic College Holy Cross Scholarship Fund, Retired Clergy & Widowed Presvyteres Benevolent Fund, National Philoptochos Emergency Fund, Ecumenical Patriarchate, National Sisterhood of Presvyteres Benevolent Fund, UNICEF, General Medical Fund,


Commitments to Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos

Fellowship of Stewards FOS), Philoxenia House,

St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center, Dues.


We along with other parish members prepare and serve at the Dormition Family Table twice a month

We sponsor a child to attend Metropolis Camp.

We annually give a gift to our graduating seniors

We provide Greek/English Dictionary to Greek School Graduates.


We annually give as donation of $500. For our Annual Fall Food Festival and prepare man food and pastry item.


We support Operation homecoming, which is a mission to assist homeless veterans in transitioning to independent living.


Other local assistance we provide along with charities and event outside or within our church.

Gift cards for the needy, Hellenic Nursing Home Fund, Orthodox Church and Prison Ministry.


We donated for our upper Hall Kitchen money to buy a new dishwater, refrigerator and $1000. towards a new stove. A total of $6500.

A new vacuum cleaner for the church.

For the lower hall kitchen, we purchased a 40 qt. Dough Mixer, with meat grinder and Slicer Attachments ($6000.)


Easter Breads will be for sale on Palm Sunday.  Advanced orders will be taken.

APRIL 15TH Philoptochos Sunday, a brunch will be served.

MAY   19TH Kokkino Avgo  (Philoptochos General Assembly)

JUNE – Food preparation will start for Parish Food Festival Dates TBD.

AUGUST 14th Great Vespers Services followed by a coffee hour
